Bioinformatics Scientist

We’re seeking an enthusiastic and self-motivated bioinformatic scientist join the R&D group to carry out bioinformatics analytics to support our genome engineering projects. This position reports to the senior Director of Bioinformatics.
Responsibilities
Work with the genome engineering team to develop a framework for reliably evaluating the performance of CRISPR screening technologies, and functional analysis to interpret CRISPR screening.
Perform various sequence analysis to discover target elements for CRISPR engineering.
Document technical reports and present work to our collaborators.
Stay up to date with new developments of bioinformatics related to genome engineering
Carry out other duties as required.
Qualifications
Master’s or Doctoral degree in molecular biology, genetics, computational biology, bioinformatics or a related field
Programming experience with one or more of Python, Perl, C/C++, Java and R.
Proficiency with Linux computing environment and batch job processing
Excellent communication skills, with an aptitude to describe the significance of their work to biologists
Ability to multitask and aptitude for the fast pacing and dynamic culture of the startup environment.
Experience working in a biotechnology research environment, especially in the genome engineering field is a plus
Experience with CRISPR screening analysis is a plus
Experience with comparative genomics and canonical sequence analysis is a plus
Experience with various bioinformatics databases, such as UCSC genome browser, Ensembl browser and Genbank is a plus
